Not sure why The Killers decided that sounding like Meat Loaf on Sam's Town was a good idea, but the album's not a total wash:

They sound like Arcade Fire with a slightly harder edged gutiar and a more Nickelback pop sensibility. Wash.
I couldn't resist commenting on this. I had been trying to figure out what the new Killers record sounded like for a while now, and today it finally came to me: Meal Loaf. So while I was in the process of searching for Meat Loaf music to which to compare Flowers' vocals, I searched the Hype Machine and this entry was the first thing that came up... under the Meat Loaf search. Classic.
