>>Wir sind alle 129a<<

Just returned from a protest action in Kreuzberg against police raids on offices, housing co-operatives, bookshops and cultural centers connected with organising G-8 protests early last month.

The police, complete with riot gear, hand-held surveillance cameras and police vehicles, meekily herded the column around the Kottbusser neighbourhood. At one point, the riots squads and vehicles had completed a turn into a side street ahead of the crowd. At that moment, the crowd burst on straight ahead leading the popos on a brief chase up to the Oberbaumbrücke blockade.

I managed to capture the beginning of the protest, and a couple of chunks about 30 minutes into the march, this and this. (audio only)

Bloc Party sang about a different side of Kreuzberg.
